In 2007, Paramount Safety Products has made a commitment to The Environment.
We all rely on our natural environment for clean air, water, food and energy. We recognise that we need to play our part in helping our planet. It's our responsibility and we're committed to it.
We'll be working in the coming years to develop into a sustainable and environmentally conscious business. Here are just some of the initiatives we're working on.
1) Current offices - We're reviewing our power, water and product usage along with our waste management practices and establishing new working parameters to increase our efficiencies in these areas.
2) New Green Premises - We're in the process of building new premises which are designed for power efficiency (including the use of solar power) and water efficiency (with in-built water tanks and drought resistant landscaping).
3) Products - Many products in the safety industry rely on plastics and disposable materials. We're on the search for new and improved materials as well as reviewing the options for recycling our products and packaging. We won't find the solutions over night but we have already made some significant steps in this area. We'll keep you posted.
4) Logistics and Travel - Our decentralised distribution system not only ensures timely delivery but is also better for the environment as stock doesn't have to travel too far to get to our customers. We're also carbon offsetting our fleet and all airline travel.
5)And we've just partnered with 'Clean Up Australia' in 2008 - We'll be supporting this great campaign to Clean Up our country to ensure waste doesn't make it into our precious rivers and oceans. See www.cleanup.org.au
