standards required for disposable coveralls used for handling asbestos
In a timely reaction to the concerns by WorkSafe Victoria about unsuitable clothing being worn by asbestos handlers, ProChoice is happy to announce our Provek coveralls meet the necessary requirements to keep you safe.
Provek Disposable Overalls conform to the European Standards for Chemical Clothing Category III, Type 5 - Particle Tight Clothing and Type 6 - Limited Splash Protection.
The bulletin from WorkSafe Victoria indicated that to meet the standards approved to prevent asbestos fibre penetration, the coverall must be rated type five, category III (prEN ISO 13982-1). Manufacturers, importers and suppliers must supply evidence of this rating.
ProChoice can supply this evidence if and when required by resellers, for the Provek coveralls. It is imperative that asbestos handlers wear approved clothing, gloves and breathing protection.
We encourage our resellers to talk to their ProChoice representative for up to date advice regarding approved apparel for this hazardous job.
